Email from Rogue about Easy Riders BIKER story

I received the following email from Rogue today.

Cindy
I just got off the phone with the editor of Easyriders “BIKER” magazine and he is doing a two page article on Road Dogs On Hogs.
It will be in the February 2010 issue which actually comes out a little before that.
I do not know what photos he is using, that is always a surprise LOL

The People Journal

The editor of thepeoplesjournal.com would like to run several stories on the Road Dogs on Hogs. They wish to have personal stores from those that attended this year. You don’t have to be a writer to tell your story and have it published in their on-line magazine. Just wrist out your thoughts, feelings and experience of riding to Sturgis and meeting everyone and they will edit it, correct spelling and make it all flow and look good. They will send you a copy of the edited story BEFORE they run it so you can see what will be published on-line.

The on-line magazine is published once a month right now. They would like to have enough of our group that is willing to share their experience, to run a story in each issue from now till we ride again next year. As per out meeting in Sturgis to remain just a “mob”, ersonName w:st="on">BuzzardersonName> and I have told them that we would pass along this request to those that attended and hopefully ya’ll would be happy to share your experience with the rest of the world. They will be running a short intro to the series later this month and I have offered to kick it off with my personal experience for next month.

REMEMBER, these stories will be your personal experience of the group and rally! You can say and have all the space to say it in, that you want or need! All you need to do is go to www.thepeoplesjournal.com and sign up as a correspondent. The link to do that is at the top and bottom of each page of the site. When you sign up let them know that you will be submitting your personal story of the Road Dogs on Hogs. It is our hope and theirs that this series of stories will intrigue other drivers to check us out and ride with us next year!

Release DAte for Road Dogs on Hogs song

We have set a release date of June 12 for the Road Dogs on Hogs song. We hope to debut it on Freewheelin that morning along with interviews with Colonel Robert Morris (singer/songwriter), and co-founders, Buzzard and me. I will keep ya'll up to date of how that all works out and when and how to order your copy when the time comes.

Stories from drivers

I want to share with everyone the stories that were emailed to me about last years ride to Sturgis and how these people feel about RDOH. Everyone has seen my blog post about it so I have not included what I wrote.

Henry Dorame aka Buzzard (Co-founder)

How did the road dogs on hogs come about, you would like to know. Well if I were to tell the truth I would have to say they came about by accident during the first part of 2008.  A lot of drivers have moved to satellite radio for the convince of not having to look for a station every few miles on regular radio. In doing this we also discovered the trucker channel on Sirus radio.

During one of there programs [the ‘Freewheelin’ show to be exact] their topic for the day was ‘what are your plans for summer once it gets here.’ Since it was one of those weeks that no matter where you went you had bad weather, I figured why not call in and let every one know of my plans.  I called in and told them that I was going to take my bike and go to the bike rally at Sturgis, SD, as I had been doing for abut the last 35 years. Lol! Yep that’s right 35 years. While listening to the rest of the  show I heard white rose, aka, Cindy Morgan, call in and say that she had just moved from the back of the bike to the front that year and that going to Sturgis was a dream of hers, but that she didn’t think that it would ever happen because of personal safety issues that she has had since she had returned from Iraq.  Since I had her number I called her up and told her that if she really wished to go that she was welcome to go up with me and the group of riders that I knew and that we would keep an eye on her and see that she was safe.

Road Dogs on Hogs Song (UPDATE)

I got an email from Colonel Robert Morris this morning. It included a guitar and basic vocal of the melody for the song. Things are coming right along with it and we hope to release it some time in June. Here are a few of the lyrics.

A couple of truck driving bikers, who like to have their thrills

Decided to make the run to Sturgis, up in the black hills

Soon others joined the party, sharing that asphalt high

Road dogs on hogs, drive to live- live to ride

(Chorus)
Road Dogs on Hogs, living a life that’s free

We believe in our God our country, the love of our family

Rolling down the highway, our hearts full of pride

Road dogs on hogs, drive to live- live to ride

Problams with Truckin' Bozo Show

We were hoping that it would not come to this, but we are having problems getting on Truckin' Bozo to talk about "Road Dogs on Hogs". Every time someone calls in either Richie wont let them o air, or they get cut off. At this point we are not sure if it is Bozo, or Richie. Richie has made the comment to a couple of people that it is his show and he runs it and will allow who he wants on air.

What we are asking is that you email Sirius/XM, call Customer support or David Goreab and complain about this. All the other shows allows us to talk about "Road Dogs on Hogs", so why not "Truckin' Bozo"?

Dave Goreab's number is 212-584-5235. You can email Sirius at www.sirius.com/customercare and thier phone number is 888-539-7474. And you can emal Bozo at bozo@truck.net

Thank you,

Road Dogs on Hogs

Road Dogs on Hogs Song

Buzzard and White Rose have been talking to Colonel Robert Morris about his writing a song about our little group. What we need from someone in the group, is someone that is good with graphic art to create the insert to go along with the CD. If you know of anyone that is willing to donate their time to create this for us please have them get in touch with Buzzard or White Rose.

1st Annual RDOH ride to Sturgis

Road Dogs on Hogs arrived at Sturgis Saturday night around midnight and had one heel of a great time!!

Counting the days!

OK,  don't know about everyone else, but I am getting very excited with each passing day! We are 15 days to the kick off of Sturgis Bike week. I know some of ya'll will be leaving in 12 to 14 days, but I am in hopes that I will be leaving in 11 days, July 30th.

I am truly amazed at the response we have gotten and the numbers of drivers/riders that had signed up to ride and camp with us while there. What started as a crazy idea, (so I thought), has turned into almost a major event for the drivers in the trucking industry. We have Truck Shows all over the country all year round. Never before have just the drivers tried to create an event for fun, outside of the trucking industry. They wont be any show trucks to shine and polish, (just your bike), there wont be any driver recruiters, no truck dealers trying to talk you into buying their truck, no people telling you how to make it in the trucking world or any other of the things you see at any other gathering of truck drivers.

Poem by Bowtie Man

Road Dogs on Hogs to Sturgis

A gathering of Truckers,
Who enjoy their Bikes.
it's a place called Sturgis,
we're all going to like.

We live in other places,
some close and others far apart.
Here to see each others faces,
cause biking is in our Heart.

It will be a great ride,
Uniting truckers of our Nation.
Down the highways traveling with pride,
soon we'll be having a great conversation.

Some say we tend to disagree,
I think we'll prove you wrong.
Join us ,you'll certainly see,
the Brotherhood alive and strong.

So in August the very first week,
with all the planning and plenty of urges,
this is the site we all seek,
Come one, Come All, Come to Sturgis.
